This is a 42.16kW solar power system, designed and installed by CAT to power BBC transmitters in Mazeras Kilifi County.
The system features the following key components:
- 42.16Kwp Jinko panels (620w each)
- 450/200 Victron MPPT charge controllers
- 15Kva Victron Quattro Inverter
- 160Kwh BYD FD+ Lithium-ion Batteries
The plant offsets up to 96Kwh on a daily basis with an autonomy of two days ensuring that the transmitters are always powered on. KPLC is the secondary source of power with solar being the primary source of power. Using Victron’s VRM platform, the plant’s performance can be monitored remotely giving real time insights.
